From an athletic family with parents who are passionate golfers, Lukas tried many sports before he settled into golf himself. At age 10 he played his first ranking tournament in Austria, and by age 15 he was sent to the U18 European Championship by the Austrian Golf Association.
Early on, Lukas won several Austrian Championships, and after the 2012 World Amateur Championship in Turkey he decided to turn professional. In his first season on the Alps Tour in 2013, Lukas played well and graduated to the European Challenge Tour. Two years later, he had achieved a lifetime goal and gained a PGA European Tour card where he went on to play the full season in 2016. Since then, Lukas has also played on Challenge Tour and also had three wins on the Alps Tour.
